They’re attacking our freedom and we’re not just going to sit here and take it.  First and foremost they are trying to shutdown dissent then they’ll take our guns.  Once that’s done we’re done.  We will not, however, go quietly into that good night.  Come join us for a good sitdown in the garage.

Today marks the 218th Birthday of James Buchanan, the 15th President of the United States of America.  President Buchanan is often referenced as the worse President in United States history.  Good news for him, Barrack Obama will soon take that title.

President Buchanan was president from 1857-1861 (the four years before the Civil War).  His opinion on the secession of States from the Union is an odd one.  He said, “Secession is illegal, but fighting a war to stop it was illegal also.”  Buchanan was from the North, but he was very sympathetic to the Southern cause of Slavery.

Buchanan was a man who was pro-slavery, backed the admittance of territories with legalized slavery, and did nothing to stop the succession of states.  This led him to be a very popular member of the party of Slavery while becoming the most hated man of the party that wished to outlaw Slavery

Just so, you know, he was a Democrat.

As the years go by, the West has become immune to Islamic terror attacks.  “This day in history” pages are full of recounts of terrorist attacks against the west, yet we act as if each “event” is an isolated occurrence.

Since September 11, 2001, more than 13,000 attacks have happened (Carried out by Islamic Terrorists).

13,000!?!?!?!?!  Did you know that?

On this day in 1948, the Hadassah Medical Convoy massacre happened.  79 Jewish medical personnel were gunned down in cold blood while delivering supplies to Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus.  Guess who attacked them…

If you guessed Islamic terrorists, you win!

Wake up before it is too late!

We move on from the free for all and discuss the differences between socialism and conservatism.  We postulate that conservatism is not dead and we point out the problems with what Barack and his minions want to do with America.  Come on in and take a seat in the grease pit this week.

Following up on Jack’s post I wanted to spout a little of my own pride regarding the incident with the Maersk Alabama.  As a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and a fomrer 3rd Mate I am very pleased, thus far, with what appears to have been the high grade of conduct amongst our own Merchant Mariners in this incident.  Accounts on Fox News and other sources indicate that Capt. Richard Phillips has put himself in jeopardy in favor of his crew’s safety.  I pray actively for Capt. Phillips and commend his decision to act with the courage of his convictions.

For many of you unfamiliar with what a “Merchant Marine” actually is you will know shortly.  The motto at my academy is “Acta Non Verba” or “Deeds Not Words”.  Though Capt. Phillips is a graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy he is no less an example of that phrase or any of the other great traditions from which the hardy line of mariners around the world hail.

In light of the fact that these men and women of the merchant marine haul the worlds cargo and supply every country in one way or another with food and goods I think it is time for the nations of the world to band together and rid our world of the scourge that is the somali pirates.  I’m not the least bit interested in their hardships, their problems(largely self-induced) or their needs.  The despicable behavior and their continued willingness to traffic in threats, kidnapping and extortion must not go unanswered.  For the sake of our mariners and the integrity of international trade we need to end this now.  Perhaps it is time once again for our Marines to visit the “shores of Tripoli” and remind our friends in Somalia that they do not have free reign to behave as they wish and visit damage and chaos on the world at their own pleasure.  What they do within their own borders is up to them.  Perhaps we could exact a bit of payback for that little incident we recall as “Blackhawk Down” while we’re at it.  Somalia is one pit of vipers we can definitely do without.

And no.  I don’t care whether the Muslims of the world like it or not.  Obama has done quite enough bowing and butt kissing this past week.  It’s time we turn things around and start getting a few bows from our trouble making friends and do a little butt kicking in the process.

“Denmark’s A.P. Moller-Maersk confirmed that the U.S.-flagged Maersk Alabama had been attacked by pirates about 500 km (300 miles) off Somalia and had probably been hijacked. The company said it had 20 American crew on board.

What, is it 1815 again?

Here is your chance Barrack.  Show me you have what it takes to be a man and a President.  Thomas Jefferson and James Madison put some foot to ass concerning Muslim piracy almost 200 years ago, what will you do?

The last time a US ship was captured by Muslim Pirates, America left the war with “From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli.

Bet you didn’t know that J

What will America leave with now?  Your guess is as good as mine…

The free for all continued this week as we continue on our discussion of general issues in the United States.  This was a very lively group and we covered a lot of ground.  Get yourself a seat in the grease pit before it’s full.  You’re going to like this week’s show.
